Play Spot

Did you know? Play is one of the practices of Early Literacy.

The Play Spot isn’t large, but it is packed with things to do:

Play Spot area with two small tables in the foreground, a tall house-like open reading nook, activity tables, and a couch in the back for caregivers.

  • 2 computers with interactive preschool learning games; the station on the left has offerings in both English and Spanish
  • Interactive Peek-A-Book
  • Light table with manipulatives and a LEGO building table
  • Skill-building interactive wall panels for toddlers-preschoolers (panels paid for by the Friends of the Cary Area Library)
  • “Dramatic play” opportunities, including a small puppet theater
  • Dollhouse for imaginative play
  • Various puzzles and toys
  • Coloring and activity sheets to do in the Library or take home
