Our Storytime ladies, Amy and Rose, picked some favorite Easy Picture and J Fiction books from recent memory if you’re looking for a recommendation:
The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt – A modern classic that is so clever we never tire of reading it.
This Is a Taco by Andrew Cangelose – This book works on two levels: it educates children about squirrels and it’s a very humorous story to keep your child’s attention.
Mama Dug a Little Den by Jennifer Ward – This is considered non-fiction as it gives brief descriptions of animal habitats and works well one-on-one.
We Don’t Eat Our Classmates by Ryan T. Higgins – This hilarious book describes how difficult it can be to fit in at school, so naturally, it’s a great read to prepare your little one for when the time comes.
Float by Laura Martin – An exciting story about kids with unique superpowers, including one who can float, that learn they’re not so different after all.
